1. What is Fire?
Fire is a chemical reaction called combustion, which needs three things:

Heat

Fuel

Oxygen
These three form the Fire Triangle.
Remove any one of them, and the fire goes out.
2. Types of Fire

Class A: Solid materials (wood, paper, cloth)

Class B: Flammable liquids (petrol, oil, paints)

Class C: Gases (LPG, methane)

Class D: Metals (magnesium, sodium)

Class K/F: Cooking oils & fats (kitchens)
3. Fire Extinguishers
Fire extinguishers are devices used to control or put out small fires. Common types:

Water Extinguisher β For Class A fires only

Foam Extinguisher β For Class A & B fires

COβ Extinguisher β For electrical & Class B fires

Dry Chemical Powder β For Class A, B & C; multipurpose

Wet Chemical β For kitchen/grease fires (Class F/K)
4. Basic Fire Safety Protocols

Stay calm and raise the alarm immediately

Evacuate the area using the nearest safe exit

Donβt use elevators during fire

Use Stop, Drop & Roll if clothes catch fire

Only attempt to extinguish small fires if trained

Keep fire exits, corridors, and staircases clear

Know the location of fire extinguishers and alarms
-
Call emergency services right away
