Course Overview: The Basic General Course is the foundation of Civil Defence training, designed for new volunteers and community members who wish to build essential emergency preparedness skills. This beginner‑level programme introduces the principles of safety, first aid, and civic responsibility, preparing learners to act effectively in everyday emergencies and to progress toward advanced Civil Defence training.

Learning Objectives: By the end of this course, participants will:

  • Understand the role of Civil Defence in community safety and national resilience.

  • Learn basic first aid techniques including wound care, bleeding control, and burn management.

  • Practice CPR fundamentals and emergency response for common incidents.

  • Recognize and respond to heat stroke, fainting, and minor injuries.

  • Develop a sense of civic responsibility and volunteerism.

Course Structure:

  • Duration: 2–3 weeks (self‑paced with practical drills)

  • Format: Online modules, instructional videos, and guided practice sessions

  • Assessment: Short quizzes, practical demonstrations, and a final evaluation

Certification: Graduates earn the Civil Defence Basic Certificate – Level 1, enabling them to advance to Level 2 (Core Rescue Training).

Outcome:
